PIM Release 1.13.0

Product Lines and Collections

This release introduces Product Lines and Collections, giving you a structured way to organize related products and manage assortments.

  • Create and manage Product Lines to organize related products. Product Lines and Collections let you structure your data into distinct buckets.

  • Create, edit, and delete Collections to group products more easily. Collections can only exist within a Product Line, and any product added to a Collection is automatically added to its parent Line. A Collection is active by default but does not go live until its Line is published.

  • Preview before you publish. New preview capabilities let you review Product Lines and Collections before making changes live. Previews show a quick view of entity data and are click-through, so you can open a Collection preview directly from a Line preview.

  • Lifecycle management. Publishing and archiving are now supported for both Product Lines and Collections, with single and bulk menu options. Supported actions: Publish, Archive, and Delete (Delete is available for draft Lines only).

  • New filters. Product Line and Collection filters are now available on the Products listing page, making it easier to bulk-manage the products within a Line or Collection.

  • Streamlined product management. Adding and removing products is now simpler. Search-and-select dropdowns let you find products right away, and an advanced search option opens the product listing page with filters for more detailed searching.

  • Usability and reliability improvements across these workflows for a smoother experience.

Important: Publish your data to see changes To make your changes live across Search, filters, listing tables, and detail pages in PIM, you must Publish all data on your Product Lines. Any data still in draft (in flight) will not be synced, which means draft Product Lines will not appear in the Product Line filters on the Products listing page until they are published.

Keyword Management Module Enhancements

  • Associated lists in previews — you can now see a keyword's list associations directly from the module.

  • Description columns added to the Keywords and List tables.

  • Replace functionality for Keyword-type attributes in the bulk update screens. You can also remove keywords entirely by leaving the "Replace with" field empty.

Note: The Replace function applies to multi-valued attributes only. For single-value attributes, use the Override option to replace the existing term.

Bulk Improvement Progress Bar Improvements

  • We corrected how import progress is calculated, so the progress bar now accurately reflects updates in real time as they happen.

UI Improvements to Bulk Update Modal

  • The bulk update modal for the AppendOverwrite, and Replace functions has been redesigned to be more intuitive.

Sinjin has shared feedback for the Product Lines & Collections feature:
Slack convo link attached

"After testing the Product Lines & Collections in Sandbox we have the following request/improvement:

Collection Name validation should only reject identical naming conventions within the same product line. Other product lines should be able to have the same Collection names as other Product Lines as each collection has it's own unique ID.

In my attached screenshots you can see "Product Line Test" product line has 0 collections and I'm attempting to add a new one with the collection name = "Beds" however I'm getting an error. This is because "Beds" is also a collection on the "New Product Line" product line. We believe we should not see this error, as the collection is unique only to the product line with a unique set of products and a unique ID, therefore the name should be allowed to be shared between multiple product lines.

There is however a downtime or search index time that is not working as expected. If you immediately create a new collection on one product line then do the same on another, it'll allow you to have duplicate collection names. It takes about 5 minutes for the newly created collection to be added to the error index I think. https://jam.dev/c/8a2e8bb4-86a7-439a-af26-834a0c26d2ac"

Regarding the Keywords Enhancement Module:
Details have been shared in the ticket for ref. Ticket 1952

PIM Release 1.13 has been successfully deployed. :confetti_ball:

As discussed, the feature flag will remain hidden in both Sandbox and Production until we review it together in the upcoming Thursday FR call. We’ll enable it in Sandbox during the demo so you can review and test it in detail later. Once you’ve tested it, please let us know when you’re comfortable for us to enable it in Production. Thanks and looking forward to reviewing this together on Thursday.
